Medical Insurance Overview

Semgrep offers five medical plan options for 2026 — three through Cigna and two through Kaiser Permanente. All plans are effective January 1, 2026 and cover in-network preventive care at 100% with no deductible.

Choosing the right plan

  • If you visit the doctor frequently or have a family, the OAP Buy-Up or Kaiser HMO offer the lowest out-of-pocket costs per visit.
  • If you’re generally healthy and want to build tax-free savings, the HDHP HSA options pair lower premiums with a Health Savings Account you can invest and carry forward year to year.
  • If you want a middle ground with no deductible and predictable copays, the OAP Base is a solid choice.

Cigna Open Access Plus (OAP) Network

Cigna plans let you see any provider without a referral. Three tiers are available:

  • OAP Base — No in-network deductible. $35 PCP / $70 specialist copay per visit, then the plan pays 80%. In-network out-of-pocket max: $4,500 individual / $9,000 family.
  • HDHP HSA — Lower premiums with HSA eligibility. Deductible of $2,800 individual / $5,600 family applies before the plan pays 90%. In-network out-of-pocket max: $4,500 individual / $9,000 family.
  • OAP Buy-Up — No in-network deductible. $20 PCP / $40 specialist copay per visit, then the plan pays 90%. In-network out-of-pocket max: $3,000 individual / $6,000 family.

All Cigna plans include MDLIVE virtual care at the same copay as an in-person PCP visit, available 24/7 by phone or video. Prescriptions are filled at Walgreens or CVS, or via home delivery. Generic drugs start at $10 for a 30-day supply.

Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser plans are available to employees in Kaiser service areas. All care is coordinated through Kaiser’s integrated network.

  • Kaiser HMO — $20 PCP copay per visit. No deductible for most services. Out-of-pocket max: $1,500 individual / $3,000 family.
  • Kaiser HDHP HMO — Lower premiums with HSA eligibility. Deductible of $1,500 individual / $3,000 family applies before cost-sharing. Out-of-pocket max: $3,000 individual / $6,000 family.
